Hey, what’s up? It’s Dr. Jade Teta here.

For the past month, I’ve been writing exclusively about how to strengthen immunity by strengthening your metabolism.

If you get sick easily… or you’ve always struggled to lose weight and get fit… your metabolism may be distressed, resistant, or even dysfunctional.

Please don’t confuse “distress” or “dysfunction” with metabolic “damage.” This term has become a popular catch-all for a slow or sluggish metabolism — and I don’t care for it.

Metabolic “damage” isn’t a clinical diagnosis. It’s inaccurate. And in my opinion, that phrasing just perpetuates a victim mindset… because it makes you sound broken. You are not broken.

What IS real is metabolic distress, which leads to metabolic resistance and eventually dysfunction.

A resistant or dysfunctional metabolism just feels stuck. You might call it “slow” or “sluggish,” because it isn’t burning body fat effectively… so it’s difficult to lose weight.

You might also get sick often, because your metabolism isn’t fueling your immune system effectively.

Overweight and low immunity are two obvious signs of metabolic distress.

You can also look at your biofeedback signals to measure metabolic distress. Just “check your SHMEC”:

· Sleep – do you fall asleep easily, stay asleep, and wake up feeling refreshed?

· Hunger – is your hunger controllable? Do you feel “pleasantly empty,” or do you get “hangry”?

· Mood – is your mood generally light, optimistic, and consistent? Or are you on an emotional rollercoaster most days?

· Energy – do you have easy, all-day energy? Or do you struggle with brain fog and fatigue, especially after lunch?

· Cravings – do you have crazy cravings for carbs… or sweet, salty, fatty or crunchy foods?

These are the fundamental 5 signals I want you to be constantly aware of, especially in the times between meals. (There are several other important biofeedback signals you can use too. I discuss them in the video lecture below.)

The good news is, a slow or sluggish metabolism is relatively simple to fix…

Once you have a baseline of your daily metabolic experience — how you feel from hour to hour, and day to day — you can start making tweaks.

Remember, your metabolism is an adaptive, reactive system. And it loves a good challenge. So, you want to introduce eustress — or positive stress — into your system. (Eustress is like when you go to the gym and have a great workout. You’re positively challenging your muscles and cardiovascular system.)

The best way to challenge your metabolism is to CHANGE something… and the easiest place to start is with your eating and exercise.

However, I am NOT telling you to just “eat less and exercise more.” There’s much more to it than that.

In the video lecture below, I explain four simple techniques to help you calm a distressed metabolism… and possibly relieve a lifelong struggle to get healthy.

Remember, the most EFFECTIVE thing you can do to boost immunity is to strengthen your metabolism, because your metabolism POWERS your immune system.
