Nutritionist Bella Grace has created a perfect recipe for inspiring you to get over your fear of “icky” Brussels sprouts and view them as the nutritional powerhouses they are. When you serve Brussels restaurant-style, that is-crispy, slightly caramelized, and paired with delicious flavors, they are sure to be a huge hit at the dinner table.

Best Restaurant-Style Brussels Sprouts

Serves: 4

Prep Time: 10 min.

Cook Time: 15 min.

Total Time: 25 min.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Brussels sprouts, destemmed and sliced in half
  • 4 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • cayenne pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Optional: your favorite add-ins such as cooked bacon, goat’s cheese, toasted walnuts, etc.

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 425F.

In a large cast-iron pan, heat the avocado oil over medium-high heat and place the Brussels in the pan, cut side down. Add your seasonings and cook until golden brown, about 5 mins.

Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 10 minutes or until nice and crispy.

Remove from the oven, and drizzle over the balsamic vinegar and maple syrup, if you are using it.
